Legacy Gift
North Central Class of ’72
50th Anniversary Legacy Gift Announcement

A group of NC ‘72 graduates met in October of 2021 to thank Washington Township Schools for our superior education and ask our classmates to give a legacy gift to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Class of 1972.

We found a program that would provide recognition for the Class of '72 while contributing to the success of future NC grads: The True North Academy (TNA). In the last five years, TNA has changed the lives of 340 at-risk NCHS students by providing wrap-around services to help them graduate with their high school diploma and propel them to a better life.  The True North Academy provides North Central students with an alternative path to graduation. Through an individualized approach to teaching and learning, TNA students become active participants in achieving their educational and career goals.

The program targets educational services, both on and off campus, to reach student who would otherwise “fall between the cracks”. These students navigate overwhelming challenges and successfully join their classmates in receiving a North Central Diploma and a path to a brighter future.

The Class of ’72 Legacy Gift will help even more students earn their diploma.  Our goal is to raise $50,000. Leading up to this, we have reached out to a small group of our classmates asking them to give the first $25,000 and to challenge other classmates to also give.

We have raised the first $25,000 and are currently at $36,000, well on our way to reaching our goal.  We are asking you to consider contributing to this challenge with a gift of any amount and to join us in celebrating our 50th high school reunion.  If you wish, there are other donor designations (beside True North Academy) that you can support, including in memory of someone or other focus areas benefiting Washington Township Schools. This allows for donor flexibility.

During our school years, our education helped us achieve success as adults. We invite you to give and help others recognize that our class is willing to pay forward in a meaningful way. All gifts from our classmates will be acknowledged by the Advancement Center for Washington Township Schools, a not-for-profit entity, making your gift fully tax-deductible. Click here to to donate:  Legacy Gift.
